16-19 Vulnerable Learner Bursary

If you meet one of the defined vulnerable-group criteria, you may be able to receive a bursary for essential costs that help you take part in education. The amount is based on your assessed need, course participation and the evidence you provide.

What this support can help with

  • Travel on eligible College days
  • Meals
  • Required trips
  • Essential books, equipment, materials, course kits or uniform
  • Laptop loan, where approved
  • Who can apply

You must meet an approved vulnerable-group category as well as the relevant age, course and residence criteria. The categories and evidence requirements must be stated exactly as set out in the current funding rules and College policy.

How to apply

  • Enrol on your course
  • Register or sign in to Pay My Student
  • Complete the vulnerable learner application route
  • Upload evidence for the relevant category and any requested financial information
  • Submit your application


What happens next

We will assess your application and email you with the outcome. You can also check your application status through Pay My Student.
