Course Overview
This one-year course is designed for students who are passionate about the visual arts and media, and who may not yet have achieved a grade 4 (C) or higher in GCSE English and/or maths. It offers an inspiring and inclusive learning environment where you can grow both creatively and academically, with tailored support to help you build confidence, technical skills, and a personal creative identity.
You’ll choose one of two specialist pathways:
· Art & Design – covering fine art, illustration, graphic design, and 3D design
· Creative Media – focusing on film, photography, sound, and digital graphics
Through hands-on projects, workshops, and industry-focused briefs, you’ll develop your creative thinking, technical ability, and visual communication skills. You’ll also build a portfolio that reflects your chosen pathway and interests — ready for progression to further study or a career in the creative industries.
Get career-ready while you study
From CV workshops and interview preparation to work placements and employer projects, you’ll develop the skills and experience employers value alongside your course.
