Level 2 Diploma in Media Makeup and Hair (16 18 year olds)

Applicants must be 16-18 years old and have the following: GCSEs grade 7/8 – 3 (A-D) in English, maths and science, Level 1 basic skills in literacy and numeracy and a satisfactory reference. Good manual dexterity and good oral communication are also essential for this course. Evidence of artistic skills and a keen interest in the makeup industry would be beneficial.

Skills and knowledge will be covered for a variety of areas including make up application progressing onto photographic make up skills, creating an artistic image for a competition or show, shaping and colouring eyebrows, shampooing and condition hair and scalp, plaiting and twisting hair, health and safety and client care.

Course work, assignments, portfolio of evidence, online exams, practical assessments on a variety of clients.

Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Makeup Studies

A Beauty uniform; textbook and stationery; media makeup and hair kit – approximate costs of these items will be given at the open events.

On successful completion, you would be able to progress to a level 3 course.
