English courses for speakers of other languages (ESOL) at Barnet and Southgate College are for those who need to improve their English skills.

You don’t need experience or qualifications as we offer courses at all levels from Pre-Entry to Level 2.

What this course covers
You will study speaking, reading and writing in ESOL.
An ESOL tutor will speak to you and ask you to complete some tasks. The tutor will talk to you about your level and agree on the best class for you.
You can get an Ascentis qualification in ESOL. You may also be able to study maths and computers and get a qualification in these subjects as well.
Fees and funding
You need basic classroom equipment – pens, pencils and a notebook.
Progression
You can improve your ESOL skills and then progress to higher level courses at the College or find a job.
