What qualifications or experience do I need?
You need to have completed at least ESOL L1 or have a good enough level of English to complete the course, this will be assessed at the interview. You will need to have access to a computer for independent study, and will use Microsoft Word and Teams to complete your assignments. Learners will need to have basic computer skills to complete this course.
What will I study ?
The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for further learning and training, whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting You will attend college one day per week for 3 hours. There are 3 mandatory units to complete: 1. Understanding schools as organisations; 2. Understanding how to keep children and young people healthy, safe and well; 3. Understanding how to communicate with children, young people and adults.
How will I be assessed ?
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: typed assignments using a word document on a computer, leaflets or booklets to show knowledge and understanding, charts or diagrams, or posters.
