What qualifications or experience do I need?
You must be working in a role that enables you to demonstrate the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) of the apprenticeship standard. This programme is suitable for individuals new to data roles or those looking to formalise and develop their existing skills. GCSEs in English and maths at grade 4 (or equivalent) are preferred.
What will I study ?
You will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to work effectively with data in a business environment. This includes learning how to source, collect and format data from different systems, ensuring it is accurate, secure and suitable for analysis. You will learn how to analyse structured and unstructured data, identify trends and present findings clearly to support decision-making. The programme also covers data quality, validation, and the use of basic analytical techniques to produce meaningful insights. Alongside technical skills, you will build an understanding of data protection, ethics and legal requirements, as well as communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders and present data in a clear and relevant way.
How will I be assessed ?
You will be assessed through a combination of work-based learning and practical activities, building a portfolio of evidence throughout the programme to demonstrate your competence. At the end of the apprenticeship, you will complete an end-point assessment which typically includes a scenario-based practical assessment with questioning, and a professional discussion based on your portfolio. This ensures you can apply your knowledge and skills in real workplace situations.
