Barnet and Southgate College celebrates first wave of T Level success

  • Barnet and Southgate College students are celebrating a 97.0% pass rate for the new T Level qualification.
  • Learners achieved 100% Merit for the Science T Level programme at Barnet and Southgate College.
  • A Level students saw an increase on last year’s pass rate, with students going on to courses at Warwick, Nottingham and Southampton Universities.

14 August, London: The results are in - and Barnet and Southgate College is proud to announce outstanding achievements from its first cohort of T Level students.

Students collecting their T Level results today studied qualifications in areas such as Early Years EducatorPlumbing and Heating Engineering, Laboratory Sciences and more, with many progressing to university, higher apprenticeships, or directly into skilled employment. 

Overall T Level students at the College achieved a 97.0% pass rate compared to the national average of 91.8%. More than three quarters of those (78.8%) were merit or Distinction grades compared to 65.3% nationally. 

Laboratory Science students achieved 100% Merits, Plumbing and Heating Engineering students achieved 50% Merit or Distinction and Early Years Educator students achieved 90% Merit or Distinction.

T Levels – the government’s flagship qualification designed in collaboration with employers – offer students a unique blend of classroom study and industry placements.

This year’s T Level graduates at Barnet and Southgate College have already completed placements with major industry partners including UKHSA, UCLH and Royal Free Hospital.

A Level students also celebrated a raft of successes with students achieving a 89.7% pass rate - up from 84.9% last year.

Students are going on to further studies at Warwick, Nottingham and Southampton Universities.
