Advanced Learner Loans Bursary

You may be able to receive financial support to help towards:

• Travel
• Meals
• Course costs (books, equipment, materials, laptop loan, course kits, uniform)
• Costs for accommodation (exceptional circumstances only)
• Childcare costs (maximum £250.00 per month)
• Classroom assistance for a disability or learning difficulty - once you’re assessed by your college or training provider

Students can access the Advanced Learner Loans Bursary monthly rates depending on their individual needs, as detailed below:

• Rate 1 (£50) – low-cost learner support, not including childcare and residential
• Rate 2 (£150) – learning support recognising the learner could have learner support needs
• Rate 3 (£250) – residential or childcare support recognising the learner could have other learning support or learner support needs as well

Students must also:

• be aged 19 or above on 31st August
• studying towards a Level 3 qualification
• have their own bank account to receive payment

To ensure a weekly payment, students must have a minimum of 80% attendance each week and meet the standards of behaviour and effort agreed at the start of the course. To make an application to access the Learner Support Fund click here: Pay my Student Portal
