19+ Learner Support Fund

The College receives funds from the Department for Education (DfE) and Greater London Authority (GLA) to help cover the financial costs of attending and engage in education.

To receive support from the 19+ Discretionary Learner Support Fund and you are studying at Barnet and Southgate College, you need to complete an online application via the Pay My Student Portal and submit the correct evidence as proof of your household income.

You may be able to receive financial support to help towards:

To be eligible for the 19+ Discretionary Learner Support Funding, students must be in receipt of means tested benefits and/or with a household income of £27,295 or below.

To receive funding, students must be enrolled on a course that is a minimum of 3 hours per week over 4 weeks and be a ‘Home’ or a ‘European Economic Area’ student.

To ensure a weekly payment, students must have a minimum of 80% attendance each week and meet the standards of behaviour and effort agreed at the start of the course.
