When can I apply for a course?

You can apply online for a course at any time. Even though many of our courses start in September, it is best to apply as soon as possible.

I have just applied for a course, what happens now?

Once you have applied on-line you will receive an automated response to inform you that your application has been received, then you will receive contact from the college to explain the next steps shortly after. If you have any queries or do not receive the e-mail (please check your Spam or Junk folders) then please contact us at info@barnetsouthgate.ac.uk

What grades do I need to be accepted onto a course?

The entry grades required for courses are displayed on the individual course pages. Please visit the full time or part time courses page and select your desired course from the subject areas in the list. On the course pages, click the section entitled ‘WHAT QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?’

I want to study A Levels - how does the A Level package work?

If you wish to study A levels you will need to study a minimum of three A Level subjects as part of the package. Please note: you only need to make one application if you wish to study A Levels, and you will choose your desired A Level subjects at the interview stage of your application. Learn more about the A Level package here.

I haven’t got the grades I was hoping for, what can the College offer me?

The College has made a pledge to guarantee every applicant a place on a suitable course. We want to make sure that you are put on the right course for your level, so we recommend you contact the Careers Team for further advice: careers@barnetsouthgate.ac.uk

I have applied for a course. How can I keep in touch with the College until I start?

You are welcome to join us at our virtual open events, and hopefully live open events in the new year. In addition to this, we recommend you sign up to the applicants’ hub where you will receive regular email newsletters to keep you up to date

I would like to unsubscribe from college emails, how do I do this?

Please email consent@barnetsouthgate.ac.uk to request this and you will not receive any further information regarding college news, course information, marketing and events information. You may however still receive communication regarding your application unless it has been withdrawn.

I would like to study on an ESOL course but don’t know how to apply

Please visit the ESOL department page, click on the course closest to where you live, and then click the apply online button to start your application.
