This one year qualification is designed to help applicants build the knowledge and skills required when working with children and young people from birth to 5 years, and gain knowledge of children aged 5-7 years. This course is aimed at leaners 16+

You will need 5 GCSEs, including English at grade C (4/5) or Functional Skills Level 2 Conditional offers are subject to exam results, references, and your suitability to work within the Childcare/Education Sector.

This 1 Year course is made up of 23 mandatory units. The criteria for the 23 units will be covered as follows: Theme 1 - Health and Wellbeing, Theme 2 - Legislation frameworks, Theme 3 - Play development and learning for school readiness Theme 4 - Professional development.

Internal assessment by a range of methods including direct observations, e-portfolio of evidence, written assignments and a set of synoptic assessment tasks set by CACHE. You will also be required to show competence in a real work environment. Full achievement of the qualification will not be possible until all components are completed. Please ensure you bring a handwritten personal statement of approximately 200 words to your interview, stating why you would like to work in the Childcare sector.
