If you are over 19 years old and dedicated to working with children then this could be the course for you. You will build up a comprehensive range of knowledge and skills to help you reach your goal of working in childcare.
Learners should be at least 19 years old, and literacy skills at Level 2 are required.
You will study Early Learning and Childcare with a mix of mandatory and optional pathways. You will spend one day a week in the College, plus independent study using an e-portfolio. Students will need to show competence in both Early Years knowledge and skills.
Internal assessment will be conducted by a range of methods including direct observations, an e-portfolio of evidence, written assignments and a set of tasks set by CACHE. There will be 10 assignments, and students must produce a professional development folder, as well as take part in 1 observation and 1 professional discussion.

Yes, you will need to meet with a member of staff for an interview and an initial assessment.
Extra Costs will include study materials, travel costs to and from placements, clearance from the Disclosure & Barring Service and a course text book.
You will need to provide evidence of 12 hours placement at interview. You will need access to a PC for independent study.
