If you seek a career in business and finance or who would like to progress onto a business and finance programme in Higher Education, this course is designed for you.

You should have the following qualifications: five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or higher in academic subjects including GCSE grade 5/6 (B) in maths and a 4 (C) in English, OR a Level 2 Diploma (merit grade) in a relevant subject and GCSE maths grade 5/6 (B) and English grade 4 (C). A suitable reference is also required. To progress to Year 2 you need to have successfully completed Year 1.

The course will cover a range of topics including: the business environment, business resources, introduction to marketing, business communications, personal finance and financial performance. A further eight specialist units are taught, covering human resources, marketing, finance and business management areas.

This course will be assessed continuously through coursework.

Students who successfully complete this course may be able to progress to a foundation degree (2 years) or honours degree (3/4 years); alternatively you may choose to move directly into employment.
