Our Historic Vehicle Restoration Apprenticeship Programme has been designed in conjunction with The International Guild of Specialist Engineers ( TIGOSE ) specifically to develop technician apprentices from across the UK to equip them with the highest level of traditional skills and practical ability within the Vehicle Restoration industry.

We offer a  Level 2 Apprenticeship in Historic Vehicle Restoration , accredited by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) , which has been specifically designed to give apprentices a clear training route into the historic vehicle industry. We also hope to run a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Classic Car Restoration in the near future.

A unique aspect to the Apprenticeship

In addition to the development of vital skills to help you succeed in your employment, Barnet and Southgate has devised additional modules that cover important aspects such as client care and business enterprise – both critical to the historic vehicle business.

If you are selected to join this challenging and rewarding apprenticeship programme, you will form part of an apprenticeship engineering team that will work on a classic vehicle from a rolling chassis to completed coachwork.

You will also be part of the process which will market and sell the completed vehicle; all part of a notional trading company, so you will learn aspects of business enterprise, how to attract business through social media, the need for cash, profit margins and efficiency techniques that can help your employer thrive!
