Barnet and Southgate College's Employment and Enterprise Zone is a High Street outlet offering Advice, Recruitment and Skills Training for both employers and individuals. This includes Business Start up support and help for SME's; (SME's form over 91% of Barnet's businesses).
EEZ work closely with many different partners/agencies but significantly with JobCentre Plus (JCP). Typically for the last quarter we have received in the region of 1,500 referrals from JCP and offer over 15 different work skills training programmes from Web Design to Construction to AAT to IT to Selling Skills.
What makes EEZ different is the job matching events: working with JCP we physically bring together employers that are posting jobs with appropriate candidates in a networking type environment. Employers present on their company and the type of candidates they are looking for, then job seekers and employers have the chance to chat informally after the presentations to find out more.
