College hosts red carpet launch for summer enrolment campaign

Barnet and Southgate College rolled out the red carpet for the premiere launch of its summer recruitment campaign, which went live on 14 June

The event was held in and outside the historic Tudor Hall at the College’s Wood Street campus in Barnet.

Guests including Councillor Martin Prescott, College Governors, Staff and Students were treated to an exclusive viewing of the College’s Summer Campaign 2012 film and posters, which have been created with film-star glitz and glamour in mind.

The filming and photography took place over a number of days and College students from Catering, Performing Arts, Motorsports, Business Industries, Creative Industries, Sports, Health and Social Care and Hair and Beauty were all involved.
The students and some staff were professionally styled and transformed into stars for the day as they took part in a series of photo-shoots and short films. These images will now be used in a two month long advertising campaign to encourage recruitment onto full and part-time courses, the central theme being that enrolling on a course at Barnet and Southgate College could also help transform your life.

Barnet and Southgate College Hairdressing Student, Kelly Burke said:

“It was great fun being involved in the photo-shoot we were treated like film stars on the day, I loved having my hair and makeup professionally done. I’m really proud and excited to be the student fronting the Hair and Beauty poster, I can’t wait to become a little bit famous as I see myself in the local advertising campaign!

I’m currently studying for an NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing and I’ve already learnt so much over the last two years, the quality of teaching is amazing and College life makes me feel independent and mature, plus I’ve made some great friends. One day I hope to own my own Salon or maybe become a session stylist. I hope the new campaign encourages people to enrol on a course, as Barnet and Southgate College is a great place to come and train or learn.”

Enrol now  for courses starting in September 2012.

It’s also possible to enrol online  or download a printable application form , or email: info@barnetsouthgate.ac.uk  or call: 020 8266 4000 for further information.
