GOLDD

Great Opportunities for young people with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities

This project is part of the ESF London Youth Programme

Objective

  • The Project will support young people aged 16-24 with Learning difficulties and/or disabilities or a long term health problem who are not in employment, education or training.
  • The Project provides a bespoke case worker led service to these young people to help them to move into sustained employment, education or training.

Eligibility

Students must:

  • Be aged between 16-24
  • Not in employment, education or training
  • Have a learning difficulty/disability or long term health problem
  • Have legal right to work in the UK
  • Be resident in one of the West London Boroughs (Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon or Hounslow)

Course Content

  • Support and mentoring (Information, Advice and Guidance) and regular reviews
  • Group training and one-to-one sessions
  • Motivation and confidence building
  • Employability skills
  • Skills improvement and/or skills building
  • Gateway to desired goals (employment, education, apprenticeships or traineeships)
  • Minimum 6 months support - including during and after progression

Steps

  • Sign up, enrolment and induction
  • Training
  • Progression to employment, education or training (with continued support)
