Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you have a history of learning difficulties/disabilities, have completed successfully an Entry 1 or Entry 2 special needs course and are ready to focus more on your basic skills towards employment.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?
A certificate at Entry Level 1
What will I study ?
This course will enable you to develop and gain qualifications in English, Maths and ICT skills to be better prepared for work. You will continue developing your communication and social skills, your decision making skills, and employability skills in different areas. Also, every attempt will be made to liaise with other organisations and get you into suitable placements that cater for your interests and abilities. You will also be given the opportunity to choose from 4 possible optional courses: Catering and customer service, Social Enterprise, Multiskills Sports or Horticulture.
How will I be assessed ?
Initial assessment of English and Maths and an interview.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
Edexcel / Btec Certificate in Skills for Independence and Work at Entry 2
What can the course lead to ?
This will take you either to an Entry 3 skills for working life course or the tutors will suggest other pathways leading to voluntary work or employment.

Course Fees

Course tuition fees are free for UK students under 19yrs.

All students may  be charged for materials e.g. equipment, clothing etc. if appropriate

UK students aged 19 and over may need to pay tuition fees, and where applicable  exam and materials fees.  Please contact us for more fee information. Ask about the new 24+ Advanced Learning Loans for some courses starting Sep 2013.
