If you have an ambition to study an engineering discipline at university yet do not have the formal qualifications to gain direct entry onto degree level study this course will appeal; it is particularly designed for those who have had a break in their education and need to refresh their knowledge.

We welcome students who are 19 years of age or over and have GCSEs in in English and maths at Grade C (4) or above.

Students will study a wide range of modules including: Mathematics for engineering, Computer-aided design (CAD), Mechatronics, Engineering materials, Signal processing principles, Electronic circuits

You will be assessed through a combination of practical task completed in laboratories, reports, presentations and coursework assignments. This qualification will appeal to students who prefer portfolio-based assessment covering a variety of engineering investigations.

You will need to purchase the department uniform and course books. You will also need to pay for some trips and visits.
