Who is this course for?
This course is designed for those who wish to seek a career in ICT or who would like to progress to an ICT/Computing programme in Higher Education. This course runs at Wood Street and Southgate
What qualifications or experience do I need ?
Applicants must have the following qualifications: *4 GCSEs grade C or above in academic subjects (including English and Maths) *BTEC First Diploma in ICT (Distinction) *GNVQ Intermediate in ICT (Distinction) *Ability to pass a test at Level 2 in Communications To progress to Year 2, successful completion of Year 1
What will I study ?
In total you will study 18 units - a number of core units including: *Computer Systems *Programming *Information Systems Plus a range of specialist units including: *Website Production and Management *Advanced Spreadsheet Skills *Digital Graphics and Computers *Computer Animation *Principles of Computer Networking
How will I be assessed ?
This course will have internal on-going assessment. Each unit/module will include a number of assessments.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
On successful completion of this course, you will achieve BTEC National Extended Diploma for IT Users(equivalent to 3 A Levels).
What can the course lead to ?
Students who successfully complete this course may be able to progress to a Foundation Degree (2 years) or Degree (3 - 4 years); alternatively some may choose to move directly into employment.

Course tuition fees are free for UK students under 19yrs.

All students may  be charged for materials e.g. equipment, clothing etc. if appropriate

UK students aged 19 and over may need to pay tuition fees, and where applicable  exam and materials fees.  Please contact us for more fee information. Ask about the new 24+ Advanced Learning Loans for some courses starting Sep 2013.
