Who is this course for?
A student who wishes to study full-time to progress to university courses having recently achieved a range of GCSE and AS qualifications.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?
2 AS Levels at grades A-D including this subject. E grades will be considered on an individual basis. GCSE English at grade B or above.
What will I study ?
A2 Government and Politics specification - 9063 Examining Board - EDEXCEL Units 3 and 4 focus on ideology, mainly but not only in a British context. The ideologies examined are: Unit 3 - Introducing Ideologies: Liberalism, Conservatism, Socialism, Anarchism Unit 4 - Other Ideological Traditions: Nationalism, Feminism, Ecologicalism, Multiculturalism * In addition, Tutorial will be added.
How will I be assessed ?
Assessment is through examination only.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
On successful completion of this subject, the candidate will gain an A Level certificate in Government and Politics.
What can the course lead to ?
On successful completion of this course, you may progress to a university course of your choosing according to the subjects and grades that you have achieved.
How do I join the course ?
You must complete a full-time application form and make an appointment for an interview with a tutor. References will be required from your previous educational establishment.
Will I need an interview ?
Yes, before you can enrol.
Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ?
Yes, students are required to provide their own textbooks.
