The Access to Higher Education Diploma (Business and Accounting) is a Level 3 qualification which prepares learners for study at university. It is designed for: Learners seeking progression to university or progression opportunities in employment. Learners with a current or previous role or interest in business and/or accounting; Learners who, because of social, educational or individual circumstances, have not been able to pursue higher education. Learners seeking a change of direction because of unemployment or lack of career opportunities in their previous field and who have a demonstrable interest in entering a business related profession.
We welcome students who are 19 years of age or over with at least functional skills Level 2 in English/ GCSE grade C or above or recognised equivalent qualifications. 19+ learners with no qualification will be considered based on interview assessment.
You will study a number of business and accounting related units. In particular you will learn about business organisations and structures, business planning, how to record business transactions, and how to deal with financial & management accounting and decision making. You will also examine the financial statements of different types of businesses - clubs and societies, partnerships and limited companies. By the end of the course/ programme you will be familiar with the more practical aspects of day-to-day running and management of a business and reporting to management
You will be assessed by a mixture of coursework and exams.
On successful completion of this course you will gain a Diploma in Business & Accounting
