This foundation course may be the answer if you are 16+ and have just left school but need additional time and support to reach the standard required for Level 2 (GCSE) study. Designed to provide you with basic Science skills, this course will develop your maths and English too.

It is preferable to have a minimum of E3 in English and maths and double E (2/3) in science GCSE; we will also give you an informal test in maths and English at your interview.

This is a foundation course designed to help students prepare for a BTEC Level 2 Applied Science programme or a related course; you will study biology, chemistry and physics as well as maths and English.

Assignment based coursework - all units will be assessed and graded with a Pass grade - All units must be completed to achieve the course. You will also be expected to improve your Maths and English in order to support your progression to a level 2 course.

Yes, you will need to meet with a member of staff for an interview and a BKSB test to assess your current level of maths and English.
