This two-day course has been developed by North London Hospice in partnership with Barnet Southgate College and OCN London to offer learners a new and exclusive nationally recognised qualification in Palliative Care Awareness. This course is delivered by highly specialised staff from the North London Hospice.

This qualification has been designed for senior healthcare professionals or those at a similar level.

To complete the OCN London Level 5 Award in Palliative Care Awareness you need to cover all the assessment criteria in the two mandatory units: 1. Understanding the Theoretical Concepts of Palliative Care; 2. Understanding the Use of Palliative Care in Symptom Management. The qualification includes: The ethos and history of palliative care; Holistic care; Spiritual care; Symptom management at the end of life; Preferred place of care; Advanced care planning; Effective communication.

Candidates must attend both days and complete a workbook in order to compete the course.

On completion of this course you will achieve an OCN London Level 5 Award in Palliative Care Awareness.
