The course is designed for teenagers that have difficulties with English and maths and who may have learning difficulties or disabilities. It is designed to help you improve your English, maths and ICT skills as well as develop skills and knowledge with the BTEC Entry 3 Certificate in Vocational Studies.

There are no formal entry requirements, however you will need to be able to communicate with your peers and staff. You need to attend an interview to determine your level and assess your needs, interests and study requirements.

Study will include: Functional Skills qualifications in English, maths & ICT and BTEC Entry 3 Certificate in Vocational Studies. The BTEC Certificate will include 5 chosen units around health, careers, planning and team work. Students will undertake study skills and tutorials, personal and social development and 36 hours of work experience. A range of enrichment activities are available within the College for students to participate in.

You will be assessed through a vocational portfolio and Functional Skills exams for maths, English and ICT.

You could achieve a Pass in BTEC E3 Certificate in Vocational studies and depending on individual level a range between Entry 2 to Level 1 functional skills qualifications in ICT, maths and English.
