Designed to develop practical skills in science and engineering, this course is ideal for those who have a genuine interest in the subject and an aptitude for engineering.
You need 4 GCSE at grade 3 (D) and above; these should include English, maths and an additional science.
All students will follow a course involving the study of units such as: Health and safety in engineering Communication for engineering Investigating engineered products Mathematics for engineers. You will also be able to study GCSE Maths and English alongside this course.
Assessment is by assignments, projects and exercises set and marked by the unit tutors, with two of the units externally assessed. You must achieve a minimum of pass in all units to achieve an overall pass grade for the qualification.
On passing this course you will receive a nationally recognised BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Engineering.
