Designed for those who are interested in pursuing artistic careers in the following creative digital industries: Computer Games Design & Development, Computer Generated Imagery & Visual Effects for Television & Film, 2D & 3D Animation for Games, Television and Film, Website and App Design and Development.
You will need 5 GCSEs grade A* - C (8/9 - 4/5), preferably including English; a Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and/or English, or a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media (Distinction or Merit), or Level 2 Diploma in Creative IT (Distinction or Merit), or Level 2 Diploma in another relevant subject area.
The course will provide an opportunity for those who have an interest in the development and design of games, animation, apps and the internet. It will include the development of strong visualisation techniques: and the use of a wide range of specialist computer software required to produce 2D and 3D animations, computer generated imagery and visual effects, motion graphics, computer games and websites. You will study 18 modules covering Computer Animation, Games and Web Design.
Coursework is assessed throughout the year.
Year 1 - UAL: Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology Year 2 - UAL: Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology (Progression onto year 2 is subject to successful completion of the diploma, attendance & punctuality)

Yes - you will need to meet a member of staff for an interview; to which you should bring any examples of your creative work, and a written piece (approximately 500 words). This will be in the form of a film review.
Most of the materials will be provided, but it is advisable to invest in a selection of media storage equipment and materials, so that you can continue your work outside of the studios.
Students may be required to study Functional Skills or GCSE English and/or Maths as part of their programme.
