This 1 year course is designed for those who are intrigued and motivated by art and design to explore, develop and test their creativity within a structure that provides a sound base of skills and knowledge, while enhancing self-confidence and revealing their own path within the Art, Design or Creative Media world.
You will need 4 GCSEs grade A* - E (8/9 - 2/3), preferably including English
It will enable you to experience a range of core skills including 2D & 3D studies and Art, Design & Creative Media History. Learners will also develop their skills in career progression by working on their Functional Skills or GCSE's in Maths &/or English, as well as taking part in vital employability and work experience projects.
Assessment is formative and coursework is assessed throughout the year.

Yes - you will need to meet a member of staff for an interview; to which you should bring a portfolio of your artwork, and a written piece (approximately 300 words - one side of A4) on why you are applying for a creative course and what your future plans are.
Most materials will be provided but it is advisable to have a small art box of equipment so that you can continue your work outside of the studios.
Students may need to study Functional Skills or GCSE English and/or Maths as part of their programme.
