Community Link

Who is it for?
The course is for people recovering from mental health issues who are currently in contact with mental health services.

It is for people who want to:

 

• increase their confidence
• widen their social circle
• learn new skills
• participate in their community
• look for employment

What happens on the course?
Students can choose up to 16 hours of tuition from the options shown in the timetable, depending upon availability, thus creating their own learning packages.

Social outings and activities are an important part of the programme. Classes are small (less than ten) and each student will have a personal tutor who will provide supportive tutorials during a student’s time on the course.

How long is Community Link?
You are offered 2 years on Community Link. The course runs from September to June, but it is possible to join at other points in the year. (January and April).

When does the course run?
The course runs from Monday to Friday during term times between 10.00 and 5.00, the exact times will depend on the classes chosen.  

Where is the Community Link course?
The course is held at two Barnet and Southgate College centres: Wood Street and Grahame Park
